During the history of humanity, plants have been used for magical-religious, mystical and medicinal purposes. Thanks to global openness and interconnectedness, which our modern society allows, many of these practices have been recovered and in some cases expanded to new territories. That is the case of iboga and ibogaine, a plant and a substance that has the potential to revolutionize the treatment for drug dependency.

But what is ibogaine? How is it used? Could it be that a natural substance that comes from the root of an African shrub can solve something as difficult as heroin dependence? What about other substances such as stimulants? If you want to know the answers to these questions delve into the text Brun Gonzalez shares with us in this edition of Young Vision. Learn how knowledge of ancient cultures can enrich us in profound and unexpected ways and how these practices relate to the current state of drug policy in the world.
